How to turn off a security light for a gmc saonoma 1998.?

the light keeps coming on every so often and the only way to shut it off is by pulling fuse. i would leave fuse out but it also controls fuel gauge and most of instrument cluster as well as radio and a few other things. is there a way to manually shut this off or do i need to take it in. thanks
