Was this cowardly act by me on father's day, or all right in your eyes?

A week ago my mom and I had a fight, and obviously my dad got all the blame, I haven't talked since with my dad. On Father's day, I bought him a card, and The Doors CD, but could not bring it upon myself to give it to him, so I left it in the kitchen for him to find this morning...Obviously my mom called me after, and she wasn't that happy. What do you think?
